Desde la muerte del ciudadano afroestadounidense George Floyd, a manos de un policía en Minnesota, se han desarrollado diversas manifestaciones en todo Estados Unidos en contra del racismo y la violencia institucional hacia la comunidad afroamericana.
En medio de estas protestas también se han producido desmanes y disturbios, que han sido cubiertos por distintos medios de comunicación de ese país.

Y fue en Seattle, Washington, que mientras un equipo periodístico de la NBC News cubría las manifestaciones, se produjo un enfrentamiento entre policías y protestantes, que terminó con un fuego de artificio alcanzado a la periodista Jo Ling Kent.

Las imágenes se emitieron en vivo y en ellas se puede ver cómo el aparato rebota hacia el cuerpo de la reportera, quien tras ser impactada comienza a correr y alejarse del lugar junto al camarógrafo y el resto del equipo.
Horas más tarde fue la propia periodista quien aseguró en Twitter que se encontraba bien. “Afortunadamente todo nuestro equipo está bien y seguro. Estoy totalmente bien, la manga de mi chaqueta se chamuscó y eso fue todo”, explicó.

La jornada de manifestaciones fue bastante violenta, pues según informó el Departamento de Policía de Seattle, a través de Twitter, se registraron incidentes por lanzamientos de piedras, botellas y pirotecnia hacia los uniformados.
