Los Globos de Oro son por excelencia la antesala de Los Oscar, pues si bien no siempre se repiten los ganadores, la selección de los nominados en las categorías más importantes es prácticamente la misma.
Los premios de la Asociación de la Prensa Extranjera en Hollywood, serán entregados el próximo 11 de enero en el Beverly Hilton Hotel, en Beverly Hills, California, pero ya se dieron a conocer los competidores en las más de 20 categorías que reconocen lo mejor del cine y la televisión.

En la ceremonia de nominación, los actores Jeremy Piven, Peter Krause, Paula Patton, y Kate Beckinsale, fueron los encargados de leer los nombres.
Además, la versión número 72 de este evento, será la última en ser presentada por las actrices Tina Fey y Amy Poehler.
